El Salvador El Ingenio
El Ingenio farm is part of the Urruita coffee estate in the department of Ahuachapan in the west of El Salvador. Dr Gustavo Urruita’s family have been growing coffee on the farm since the 1870s when they harvested 27 bags of coffee from the farm’s volcanic soil, and today their stock of Bourbon, Pacas and Pacamara shrubs grown under the shade of native trees produce 4,000 bags of coffee annually.
We’ve got their premium fully washed offering and have fallen in love with its sweet caramel and subtle red berry acidity. It’s the base of our espresso blend, and with a lighter touch in the roaster it’s one of our favourite filter coffees too.
Brasil Carmo Estate
The Junquiera family have been growing coffee in the south of Minas Gerais for over 150 years, and at Carmo Estate for the last 30. Those years of experience, combined with a high level of investment in technology, agronomy, and training shine through in this cup which is loaded with hazelnuts, cocoa and dark chocolate. Equally delicious as brewed coffee or single origin espresso, this coffee also makes an appearance in our Milkbuster blend taken to a darker roast level.
